Gemini 4 Argon now in the API and the Gemini app for subscribers
Google is opening Gemini 4 Argon to the paid API and to the Gemini app for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. The introductory API price runs until November 30.
Source of truthblog.google/…/introducing-gemini-4-argonOn September 30 we reported that Gemini 4 Argon was, for now, limited to a few users: Google had first given it to cyber defenders through its Fairwind Program. On October 13, 2026, Google announced that the model is now globally available.
Where you can use it
- In the API, through AI Studio and the Gemini platform. Developers need the paid tier of the Gemini API.
- In the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search, for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
- In Google Antigravity, for Google AI Ultra subscribers.
- In GitHub Copilot, from October 13, for Copilot Pro+, Max, Business and Enterprise users, with a gradual rollout.
What it costs
The introductory API price is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with cached input tokens 95% off. After November 30, 2026, the price becomes $4 and $20 respectively. The announcement does not give the prices of the Pro and Ultra subscriptions.
The Gemini API has a single 1M-token limit for input and output combined, which Google calls industry-leading.
What Google says about performance
According to Google, Argon ranks first on the Vals Index, a benchmark covering finance, coding, legal and tax work. Google also reports 87% on ERQA, a reasoning test for robotics, and says that on the Gray Swan prompt-injection benchmark attacks succeeded only 0.7% of the time across 15 attempts.
Google is also offering 10,000 scientists its highest Antigravity usage tier free for 6 months, subject to application and selection.
Greece
Google says “globally” but does not mention Greece or the EU separately, and lists no excluded countries.
If you already pay for Google AI Pro or Ultra, you can try it in the Gemini app, for example as an accountant or a student, on the tasks you already do with Gemini. The announcement does not say what the subscriptions cost, and it mentions no access for the free app. If you build on the API, say a chatbot for your shop, the $2/$10 per million tokens price only lasts until November 30; after that it becomes $4/$20. The announcement does not say explicitly whether all this applies in Greece.
