EmbeddingGemma 2: Google's open embedding model under Apache 2.0
An open Google model that maps text, images, video and audio into one shared vector space, under the Apache 2.0 license.
Source of truthblog.google/…/embeddinggemma-2On October 6 Google released EmbeddingGemma 2, an open embedding model under Apache 2.0 with 740 million parameters. It maps text, images, video and audio into one shared 768-dimensional space; text-only workloads need as little as 270 million parameters. The context window is 8K tokens. According to Google, with quantization it needs about 191MB of active RAM on a Pixel 11 Pro for text-only use. Weights are on Hugging Face and Kaggle, and it runs with Ollama, llama.cpp, vLLM and sentence-transformers.
