The Commission asks about copyright and AI until November 3
A targeted Commission consultation on the use of copyright-protected works in AI and other copyright issues, with a November 3 deadline.
Source of truthdigital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/…/commiss…The European Commission announced on September 29, 2026 a targeted consultation on how technology, including AI, affects copyright protection. One of the four focus topics is the use of copyright-protected content in AI; the others are online piracy of content such as live events, the remuneration of music performers and producers, and scientific research. The Commission wants answers from rights holders, generative AI companies, collective management organizations, research organizations, national authorities, consumer organizations and NGOs. The questionnaire is also available in Greek and stays open until November 3, 2026. For Greek creators, the practical point is that collective management organizations are on the list; whether individual creators can also respond, the announcement does not say.
